Beschreibung

Material: bronze/brass/yellow metal.

Above: God’s Father, the Holy Spirit and two angels.

In the middle: the crucified one with the sun and moon, which represent the entire cosmic system. To the left of the crucified one is the Holy Lance, with which Jesus was wounded at his side, and to the right is the pole topped by a hyssop sponge with which he received vinegar.

Below: the city wall of Jerusalem, Golgotha and the skull of Adam.

Left: Saint Mary Magdalene (third Sunday of Easter and July 22), a disciple of Jesus, went to Jerusalem with Jesus; Together with two other women, however, she did not flee like the other disciples, but stayed with the crucifixion and death of Jesus (Gospel of Matthew 27, 55 – 56).

Saint Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian – According to the testimony of the Gospel of John, he was the only disciple under the cross where Jesus called him his favorite disciple (Gospel of John 19:26). With Peter he was also the first to hurry to the empty tomb of Jesus after the news of the women (Gospel of John 20: 1 – 9).

Saint Longinus the Centurion – (October 16), according to the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus and according to the Legenda aurea, was the Roman centurion who is said to have stabbed a spear (the “Holy Lance”) in Jesus’ side after his death and who according to the Gospel of Matthew as well as the Gospel of Mark testified to the sonship of Jesus.
